CNN: South Korea sink lackluster Greece

14 Jun
Park Ji-Sung celebrates scoring South Korea’s second goal in their opening Group B game against Greece.

  • South Korea open their 2010 World Cup campaign with 2-0 victory over Greece
  • Goals from Lee Jung-Soo and Park Ji-Sung see the 2002 World Cup semi-finalists coast to victory
  • Greece yet to score a goal or a point in any World Cup finals

Greece was already failing before the World Cup, their players are old and breathless compared to the other teams’. Lee Jung Soo and Park Ji-Sung did an incredible job, Park Ji-Sung scored the goal with the help of his personal talent, and he did the whole thing very calmly.

Let us hope we win Argentina….BE THE REDS!

AP Radio News:The Jabulani Controversy

8 Jun

AP Radio News| The World Cup is about to begin in South Africa. But there’s a controversy brewing. Sporting goods manufacturer ADIDAS is hitting back at  that the official World Cup ball is difficult to control and a nightmare for goal keepers. The view from Team USA defender Jonathon Spector. “It’s a bit   to the one I’m used to. I can’t say for any other balls.” ADIDAS says the ball named the Jabulani was widely tested and approved long ago. But players from Brazil and Spain have called the ball terrible and appalling.

Obama looking for ‘whose ass to kick’

CNN- Obama looking for ‘whose ass to kick’

rescue (comment):Loyalties aside, you must admit that Obama can’t win here, just as Bush couldn’t win in Katrina. (kind of apples and oranges, I know)

There is really NOTHING big he can do with the oil spill, at least not now, and people are swearing at the President? If they are thinking someone in the world can come up with a brilliant idea that goes ‘VARA BING!’, they are wrong. I’ve seen quite a lot of hypocritical people they should not tell President Obama to shut  if there is no solution! I’m not taking any sides, although my loyalty is to Mr.Obama, and I wish everyone would just think a second more before saying anything.

Tension between the two Koreas

28 May

CNN-Explainer: Why are the two Koreas so hostile?

|AP News|Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s tour likely to be dominated by the new flare-up on the Korean peninsula. The US is committing to supporting South Korea; using force appears out of the question, though. There are diplomatic steps possible, like stiffening economic sanctions. Due in China in a few days, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will discuss the situation with the Chinese, who may have more influence on North Korea. So far, there seems to be no inclination to take on North Korea. State Department spokesman P.J. Crowleysays there’s no interest in seeing the Korean peninsula explode. Barry Schweid, Washington.

CNN-North Korea warns it will meet war with ‘all-out war’

  • South Korean anti-submarine exercise prompts angry response
  • North “will react to confrontation with confrontation,” news agency says
  • North Korea calls South Korean leaders a “group of traitors”
  • Response comes amid high tensions, after Seoul blamed Pyongyang for sinking warship

I found these articles at CNN this evening, both in the highlights.

You see the photos in the first article? There are pictures of anti-North banners and rallies. Pretty shocking; we never stood up this strongly against the North so openly. I didn’t know those rallies were taking place in our country, but apparently the situation is getting extremely serious, worrying the US government and the UN, not to mention South Korea. I don’t know what to think.

North Korean state media warns tonight of all out war if punished for sinking the warship. AP Correspondent Mark Smith has White House reaction. (Mark Smith) US officials say what the White House is branding act of aggression cannot go unanswered. But the trick will be challenging the North without provoking new armed conflict on the Korean peninsula with a regime that’s armed to the teeth including with nuclear weapons. The options are said to include new sanctions and action at the UN Security Council. This is AP Radio News.
